Sweet Summer Time

Summer has gotten into full swing for the past few weeks in the McCauley household.  It is so great now that Nick is home from the summer and gets to spend all day with Owen and I.  It's not only nice because I can get a break every now and then, but it is also wonderful to watch Owen interact with different people.  Nick is so great at making Owen laugh!

Recently we have gone for ice cream...

then worked out..... of course!

We tried out the new bathtub.

MM came to visit....

MM and her little angel                              Grandma and MM

and so did Uncle Caleb.

We even went to the doctor.

12 lbs 8 oz and 24 in.

We got new cell phones...

and Owen got to meet his cousin Jake for the first time.

*No infants were harmed in the making of this film!

The other great thing about this time of year is that it is when summer camp begins!  And as many of you know Camp Tecumseh has a very special place in our hearts.  Camp has done many wonderful for things for us, especially giving Nick and I a place to meet each other.  We are both sad that we won't get to be a part of this summer.  We are excited for our visit that is coming up in a few weeks.  We couldn't stay away for an entire summer!

But now that we are parents, camp takes on another special role in our lives.  It will hopefully become a special place for Owen in the future.  It is crazy to think that the campers that will be there this summer will end up being counselors for Owen.  One of the first things you learn as a staff member is to "love those kids".  Of course we always thought that was an important thing to do.  We knew that we would have an impact on the lives of the campers that we connect with throughout the summer.  But I didn't ever think about the next step it took.  The campers that we impact will go on to impact others in the future and eventually one of those others will be our son.  So I hope that counselors work their hardest to "love those kids" because someday they will love my kid!

Camp provided us a place to meet not only life long friends, but each other.  We got married and were blessed with Owen. Thanks Camp Tecumeh!!!
